Information about Paphos
Paphos, the jewel of Cyprus, is located on the south west coast of the island. Basking in sunshine for 340 days a year, it is not difficult to see why Paphos has become the most popular property buying location in Cyprus. It has its own international airport and is itself steeped in history. The landscape and scenery are breathtaking and there are so many areas of unspoilt nature.
Paphos is home to the Akamas peninsular which is a natural wilderness in itself containing stunning gorges, excellent nature trails and some of the most extravagant coastlines. The mythical birthplace of Aphrodite, the Greek Goddess of love, Paphos is still home to the remains of her temple.
One of the main attractions of Paphos is its beautiful fishing harbour and here you will find open air cafes and taverns along with a range of restaurants and shops. There are plans for a new 1,000 berth luxury marina at nearby Coral Bay which will only serve to enhance the attraction of Paphos.
Paphos combines sandy beaches and crystal clear sea waters with natural green landscape and excellent views. The beach at Coral Bay and Lara beach offer you some of the best swimming locations on the island of Cyprus.
For golfers there are three excellent golf courses in Paphos and all are within 20 minutes driving distance. These golf courses have been rated among the top golf courses in Europe and are located at Aphrodite Hills, Tsada and Secret Valley. In addition to these, a further six golf courses are being developed around Paphos, including a PGA championship course.
Paphos is home to an organized English community so if you buy property here you will never be too far from home. It really is an ideal place for your dream home in the sun.
